Sponsored: Get Creative with Summer Media Classes at BRIC
Are you tired of your voice being ignored? Do you want to share your ideas and opinions with the community? You’re in luck, because BRIC – the organization behind Celebrate Brooklyn! in Prospect Park – is also a leader in media education, and this summer they’re providing a multitude of free and low-cost classes in TV and video production. Through these classes you can become a Certified Community Producer, gaining access to BRIC production facilities and equipment free-of-charge as an outlet to voice your ideas and opinions to the Brooklyn community.
You can view the full schedule here, but take a look at this sample of their upcoming media classes:
Video Editing with Premiere (Starting July 8th)
This course covers the basics of non-linear video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro CS 6. Before the course ends, you’ll have the opportunity to edit a short video segment.
Video Production in the Field (Starting July 9th)
In this course you’ll get hands-on experience with a professional-grade digital video camera, the Panasonic AVCCAM. You’ll also learn how to operate sound and lighting equipment in the field.
Audio Production in the Studio (Starting July 18th)
This class starts with an in-depth review of the 24-track digital Presonus audio board, including how to utilize important features such as the gate and limiter, and applying effects to an audio signal.
BRIC’s classes are offered at BRIC Arts | Media House (647 Fulton Street) and at several Brooklyn Public Library locations, including the Central Library (10 Grand Army Plaza), Kings Highway Library (2115 Ocean Avenue), New Lots Library (665 New Lots Avenue), and Coney Island Library (1901 Mermaid Avenue).
