Williamsburg’s Mini Mini Market Is Closing, Everything Must Go
As if the recent demise of Dumont wasn’t painful enough, another Williamsburg mainstay is closing. Since 2000, Mini Mini Market, the neighborhood’s first “girlie bodega,” has been dishing out cute clothing and accessories to a loving public, but early last month, owners Dana Schwister and Erika Vala announced that following the rise of Urban Outfitters’ Space Ninety 8 and a sharp rent increase, they’ll be shuttering their flagship store for good.
On March 4, Schwister and Vala kicked off a closeout sale with the additional promise of a 25 percent discount for customers who said goodbye to the store via Facebook. Now, Racked NY is reporting that the deals are getting even sweeter with all item prices marked down at least 50 percent. So, if you’re in the market for stackable rings, baggy pants or t-shirts that say (mostly unironically) that “Williamsburg Is Over,” then head to Mini Mini Market because they’re basically giving all those things away.
If you don’t care about clothing or accessories, but you’re looking for something to hold those things, Mini Mini Market is also selling their store displays and fixtures for a song.
Mini Mini Market will close for good on May 31.
