Somebody Threw A Molotov Cocktail Into A Brooklyn Bodega Yesterday
New York City is a city of extremes, isn’t it? We have extreme rents, extreme weather and, of course, extreme people.
Last night, that was proven once again when a disgruntled customer left a Brooklyn bodega, returning shortly thereafter to launch a Molotov cocktail through the door, setting the attending clerk on fire.
The incident took place at the 24 Hour Minimart located at 3901 Fort Hamilton Parkway in Borough Park. Apparently, the perpetrator got into a spat with the bodega clerk over store credit. He left in a huff and then–well, you know the rest of the story.
The good news is the clerk is going to be okay despite having his hair and jacket set aflame. As for the store: the damage was minor enough that it’s open for business today.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 30s to early 40s standing at 5’8″ to 5’10”. He had on sunglasses and a dark hoodie.
