The Cinnamon Snail Food Truck Needs Your Help
Just this morning we ran a post about the surprising number of vegetarian and vegan restaurants that’ve been closing lately, and now it looks like another beloved vegan food institution is in danger of closing: the Cinnamon Snail food truck.
It would seem they need a new truck to work out of, and have launched a Kickstarter to help cover an estimated $82,000 in costs (hat tip to Gothamist for the link). Owner Adam Sobel explains it like so:
“Help us finance and build a new food truck (finally!), so we can get back in the game, and continue to bring the best vegan food to NYC and NJ. Our old truck will get sorted out, and eventually be a “back up” vehicle, so we will never miss another day, and the sun will always shine, unicorns will always sing, and breakdancing will always occur inside the pentagon, and other official government buildings.”
It looks like they’ve still got a ways to go in their fundraising, and we’d strongly encourage anyone and everyone to pitch in. Even if you’re not a vegan, flexitarian, or anything close, this place is worth saving for the Maker’s Mark donuts alone. Theirs is not a service we can afford to lose.
