Hold Onto Your Nightmares: David Lynch Coming To Brooklyn
Yes, the man–nay, the legend–is making a rare public appearance and he’s coming to our fair borough.
Yesterday, the Brooklyn Academy of Music announced that on April 29, David Lynch will visit the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House and discuss “painting, music, Transcendental Meditation, and, of course, film, and shares stories about his creative process.” New York Public Library director of public programs Paul Holdengräber will lead the conversation.
The wonder (and tragedy) of this talk is that even if it lasts for two hours, Lynch will never be able to talk about everything he’s done, which is a lot. We’re talking Eraserhead, Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, The Elephant Man, his forays into design, his organic coffee blends and how he seems to only be getting better looking with age. However long he speaks, he’ll never cover it all, but we have to take what we can get.
Tickets for the talk will go on sale this Friday on BAM’s website and will set you back $25 to $50. Set your alarms now.
