Beer Goggles: The Pride Of Brooklyn Homebrew Festival
Believe it or not, many of your favorite craft breweries started out as small, kitchen- or basement-based operations before becoming the titans of industry we know them as today. That’s why it’s important to get in on the ground level, where experimentation outranks the need to appease the masses, and that’s the whole reason the Pride of Brooklyn Homebrew Festival–taking place from 1-5 p.m. on April 12–exists.
Returning for a second year, the festival will feature the work of 25 local homebrewers whose five-gallon batches will be sampled and judged.
But, wait, there’s more!
The judges won’t be the only people enjoying homemade beers. Aside from the coveted award for Judges’ Pick, there will be an equally prestigious award for Peoples’ Pick. So, if you’re power-hungry and beer-thirsty, we suggest purchasing tickets to the event. General admission will set you back $25 and includes a souvenir sampling glass and unlimited drinks. For $55 VIP admission, you’ll get everything the general admission folks are getting plus a t-shirt, a beer-filled growler, a chalice and early entry. Not bad for $30 more.
Tickets to the 250-capacity event, which will take place at Littlefield (622 Degraw St. nr. 4th Ave.), can be purchased online.
