NYC Taxi Launches A New Livery Cab and Car Service Locator
Now, that outerborough taxis exist, this new website is not as useful as it would have been six months ago, but such is bureaucracy. Always one step behind.
Still, we appreciate the recently-launched Basefinder website from NYC Taxi. It allows users to locate and contact taxi commission-approved car services and livery cabs in their area and to discover which companies have wheelchair-accessible cars.
Since livery cabs are still the cheapest way to get to the airport (they always know exactly where they’re going and, at least where I live, they charge a $25 flat fee) and you can call ahead and support local businesses instead of hoping against hope that an apple green cab will pass by.
For those of you familiar with the old livery cab PDF they had before, this is a marked improvement and plus it’s more Internet-y, which is always nice.
