True Detective-Specific Cocktails: What to Drink on Sunday
Rust-y Nail
Given that the most intriguing character is called Rust, this classic cocktail seems like a sensible choice. Typically, the drink is just under two parts Scotch to one part Drambuie (an herbaceous honey liqueur), but if you wanted to make it a bit more related to the show, why not substitute bourbon for Scotch? (Typically, the sweet-spicy Drambouie balances the smoky Scotch, but so what? Meet it head-on with sweet bourbon instead!) While that style of whiskey is associated with Kentucky, it’s also popular throughout the American South, and some people even maintain the drink was named not after Bourbon County, KY, but Bourbon Street in New Orleans, whose Louisiana homestate is the show’s setting.
