Tasting Brooklyn: Brooklyn Exposed’s Annual Food Festival Celebrates Its Fourth Anniversary
It can be hard to motivate yourself to do anything during the most bitterly cold, windy and wet weeks of winter, let alone traverse the borough regularly for dinner. But like a crocus poking its furled head through the frosty ground, an inbox full suddenly full of invites to upcoming food fests serves as promise that spring is indeed on its way.
We always know the season is about to take a turn for the better when we receive our heads up about Brooklyn Exposed’s annual “Tasting Brooklyn” event, which will take place at The Green Building in Carroll Gardens on Tuesday, April 29th this year. Never got around to checking out newcomers like 1 Knickerbocker, Dinosaur BBQ, Dosa Royale, El Born, Falansai, Martha, Zona Rosa or Taco Santo? For $55 (or $80 for VIP, which guarantees early admission and a borough-inspired gift bag), you can efficiently and cost-effectively make up for lost time, by indulging in bite-sized signature dishes from each. And since a BK party isn’t complete without a serious roster of cocktails, local favorites like Brooklyn Oenology, Cacao Prieto, Huckleberry Bar, Lavender Lake, Sixpoint Beer and Widow Jane will be shaking and stirring up the goods.
Leisurely summer Fridays may still be a long way off, but we’re beginning to see the light at the end of the polar vortex.
