Per the name, New York wasn’t the area hit hardest by this one. We’ll give Boston credit where it’s due, sometimes. But this one was notable as one of the few storms that actually led to New York City schools being closed—it’d only happen one more time in the next 18 years. Something to think about before raging too hard at De Blasio for keeping ’em open today (and hey, at least he’s not rolling around Queens spouting antisemitic slurs like some mayors).
