The Most Effortlessly Romantic Bars and Restaurants in Brooklyn
Fonda:
I would never recommend a spot based purely on foods that serve as aphrodisiacs. You don’t need another person recommending that you head over to Maison Premiere for oysters. (Although, in all fairness, head over to Maison Premiere for oysters because it’s wonderful there and oysters are delicious. Anyway.) However, this South Slope Mexican spot serves one dish that never fails to release audible groans in everyone who tastes it, which seems to me like a pretty good indicator of the sort of pleasure you’ll want to have for the rest of your evening. The dish (as anyone knows who’s tried it) is the duck zarape, which features succulent braised duck and an habanero-roasted tomato cream sauce, the very mention of which makes my mouth water. Enjoy the duck, a molcajete full of the excellent guacamole, and a few of the pineapple-chipotle margaritas, and you’ll be the perfect blend of full-bellied and light-headed…just like how love is supposed to feel, right?
