There’s Now a $25,000 Reward To Find Menachem Stark’s Killer
His brother offered a $100,000 reward for his safe return after his initial disappearance, and now the family of slain Brooklyn landlord Menachem “Max” Stark has put up a $25,000 reward for information leading to his killers, the Post reports.
In a press conference, Rabbi David Niederman said, “We beg you, whoever knows anything or thinks they know anything—for your own sake, for the sake of your brothers and sisters, citizens of New York City, the human race—come forward. We are not, as Hasidic, Orthodox Jewish people, looking for revenge. God will punish them no matter what happens.”
Reportedly, Stark—whose history of angry tenants, building violations, and defaulted loans led to one of the Post‘s least tasteful headlines in recent memory—had been scrambling to drum up a loan in the days before his death, and convinced a local developer to deposit $500,000 into an account for him on the day of his disappearance. Somehow we have a feeling this isn’t the last we’ll be hearing of this story.
