5 Depressing Pieces of Literature About Dysfunctional Families to Get You Through the Holidays
“A Good Man Is Hard to Find” Flannery O’Connor
Oh, man. Just about any O’Connor story is going to make you feel like you and your family are far more normal than you ever thought you were, but this one in particular will also make you feel pretty grateful for, if not being normal, than at least not being judged for how terrible you are…and I do mean judged, as in, like, final judgment. This is a particularly important story to read if you happen to be spending a lot of time this holiday season around loud, opinionated elderly relatives and/or loud, obnoxious adolescent kids. If they annoy you too much, give them this story to read. It should shut them right up.
