The Cheapest Parts Of Williamsburg, Mapped
As part of the growing onslaught of data maps created by real estate companies (here’s one for delivery options, another for neighborhood sex habits, and another for proximity to toxic waste), Zumper has added a few new ones to the mix, this time mapping the cheapest areas (so-called “cold pockets”) in New York’s most expensive neighborhoods, including Williamsburg, the only Brooklyn neighborhood on the list. It sort of goes without saying that even within said pockets, rents aren’t exactly cheap.
The median for a one-bedroom in the neighborhood is $2,750, but apartments around the Broadway Triangle go for the low, low price of $2,250. As Curbed points out, this is likely due to their proximity to neighborhood housing projects. Not exactly shocking stuff, but always interesting to see where the neighborhood-wide real estate cash grab is working and where it’s working a little less well. And also, to daydream about stumbling upon a dirt cheap apartment anywhere even sort of in the vicinity of Williamsburg.
