Can’t Stomach Thanksgiving with Your Family? Spend It at These Family-Owned Restaurants Instead
Bahia: This Williamsburg eatery is run by four Salvadorian brothers (Carlos, Luis and Jose Palomo and Orlando Martinez), with experience in Italian restaurants, but for god’s sake, bypass the ravioli and shrimp scampi. Chef Carlos shines when showcasing the dishes of his homeland, most notably loroco-stuffed pupusas, elote (fresh corn) tamales, and yucca frita, crowned with marinated red onions and caramelized nuggets of pork chicharron.
