L and G Train Service Will Be Better Starting Next Summer
After yesterday’s reduced fare hikes, some more unexpected good news from the MTA: starting next summer, service on both the L and the G will be ramped up during peak hours, Gothamist reports.
Specifically, five more trips will be added during between 8am and 9am and 7pm and 11pm on the L during weekdays (decreasing time between trains by about 30 seconds), and service will be boosted a full 20 percent between 9pm and 11pm Saturday and Sunday. Over on the G, time between trains will be reduced from 10 minutes to eight and a half minutes between 3pm and 9pm on weekdays. Moot if, say, the L happens to not be running into Manhattan at all during those hours, but still, a welcome improvement.
