10 Brooklyn Neighborhood Restaurants and Bars Where You Ought to Become a Regular
Brancaccio’s Food Shop
So, Brancaccio’s isn’t actually a restaurant or a bar, but I had to include it on this list because it is a perfect spot to become a regular and it is, also, one of my own go-to neighborhood places. Located on what passes for a commercial strip in a quiet part of southern Windsor Terrace, Brancaccio’s is a prepared food shop, that serves up some of the most delicious dishes anywhere in Brooklyn. Owner and chef Joe Brancaccio is found behind the counter pretty much all day, and he knows his customers by name and by taste, and will definitely steer you toward his favorite dishes, and the ones he thinks you’ll like best. Or, even better, is when you order a couple of sandwiches and assorted other foods (the farro and beet salad, and the pork shoulder are two of my all-time favorites), and Joe looks at you appreciatively, telling you that you ordered all the best stuff. Of course, it’s sort of impossible to order anything that’s not the best. It’s all good. So, so good.
