10 Brooklyn Neighborhood Restaurants and Bars Where You Ought to Become a Regular
There’s nothing like going to a bar during the day to make you feel like a regular, and Achilles Heel is just the right place to go for that. This bar opens at 8, and I’ve sat there drinking daiquiris at 10am, so I know of what I speak when I say that the bar staff are friendly and easy to talk to and don’t even (openly) judge you for knocking a few back early in the morning. This is a great spot that’s just out of the way enough that it’s likely to only draw locals during weekdays, which is when you should go if you want to become a regular. The food is quite good too, with snacks like duck mousse and tins of Portuguese sardines available to nibble on while drinking and talking to the people around you. Maybe you’ll make some friends, maybe you won’t. But you know, you’re an adult now. It’s good to have some restaurants and bars that you feel ownership of, places that you’re always happy to enter, and maybe a little bit sad to leave. Achilles Heel is definitely one of those spots. Cheers!
