Vive la France!: How to Celebrate Bastille Day the Trés Brooklyn Way
- Drink all the absinthe. That’s what Toulouse Lautrec would have done, and things turned out just fine for him, right?
Maison Premiere
What better way to end your Bastille Day then with a glass or two of absinthe and a few briny oysters that will make you feel like you’re in Britanny, slurping up the local, pungent mollusks. Besides, after a long day of playing petanque, you deserve an evening of rest in the relaxing garden at Maison Premiere. And when you’re done, head home and watch Vivre Sa Vie and marvel at the wonder that is Anna Karina (as Nana) discussing philosophy with Brice Parain (as The Philosopher) and saying such lovely things as this:
The Philosopher: For that, love would always have to be true.
And then go to sleep, promising yourself that you’ll start saving up for that trip to Paris, because Brooklyn is great but, really, there is no substitute for Paris. Vive la France.
