The War Memorials of Brooklyn
Highland Park
In this East New York Park, there’s a monument by Pietro Montana called The Dawn of Glory, which honors local residents who died in WWI. (Montana designed several war memorials and other sculptures throughout the borough and city.) It’s a 10-foot man, unclothed, his genitals covered by a robe he seems to be shrugging off. It’s quite something. [photo]
