6. The Western Slope of the Owl’s Head
Owl’s Head Park is known for its giant hill, a great spot for sledding, but on the other side of the park, on the western side, there is a smaller hill that looks out on the Narrows, onto Staten Island, onto the 69th Street Pier, and it’s a gorgeous place to watch the sunset, an almost-secret—usually a few other people have the same idea, but for such a beautiful spot, you’d expect hordes.
