The Lesser Traveled Bicycle Shops of Brooklyn
Bay Ridge Bicycle World
This is where I bought my bike a few years ago, and it was a pleasant experience for all the reasons people usually cite about what makes a good bike shop: the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and patient and tries hard to help etc. etc. What I really like about this place, though, is that they have an air hose out front, and I ride my bike so infrequently that whenever I decide to take it out, I have to put air in the tires. This is a small thing, and you’d think it was pretty standard for bike shops, but the other one in Bay Ridge doesn’t have an air hose out front, and the gas station closed and they had stopped offering free air a few years ago anyway, and the air pump I had broke. Air is hard to come by! [photo]
