Not only raised in Fort Greene, Atlanta-born Spike Lee is practically synonymous with the area, at least as it was in the 80s, mostly thanks to Do the Right Thing, which captured summer street life in Bed-Stuy and is still his masterpiece. And though he lives in Manhattan, Lee’s production-company offices are in Fort Greene, where he remains a major cultural presence.
