A Less Overwhelming Way to Give
Every month, CharitySub chooses a cause and curates three non-profits that address it; subscribers donate $5 to one of the three. “The idea for the website came from the founders’ own frustrations with charitable giving,” co-founder Amy Crews tells us. “We believe most people want to give to charity, but the process can be totally overwhelming, with a paralyzing number of choices to be made.” Headquartered in Gowanus, the company has so far been a success. “The biggest problem with giving is finding great organizations, especially when looking for smaller non-profits, which a lot of people like supporting,” Crews adds. “We don’t look at fundraising from the perspective of non-profits. Well, it’s not our focus, anyway. CharitySub is a service for the people.”
